This conference aims to provide an opportunity to explore the role of personal tutoring and academic advising in relation to improving student success. More specifically it will:
- Present new research and reflect on the current challenges
- Consider the role of data, evaluation and research in demonstrating the effectiveness of personal tutoring, academic advising and other forms of student support
- Show case models of support that have been proven to be effective
- Seek to make explicit the links between these types of intervention and improving student success
- Examine ways of embedding good practice throughout disciplines, faculties and institutions
- Include peer reviewed papers about personal tutoring and academic advising
- Provide opportunities for networking with international colleagues
- Encourage collaborative practitioner reflection and research
The Conference Program will Include:
- Keynote presentations by experts from the US and UK
- An international dialogue about supporting international students
- Student perspectives on key issues
