A goniometer stage allows the specimen to be traversed and tilted simultaneously so that every part of the specimen can be examined at a variety of angles.

A eucentric goniometer stage can be adjusted so that the illuminated region of the specimen stays the same as the stage is tilted. This is known as the eucentric position.

Using the controls opposite you can tilt and traverse the specimen.
